High School and College Internships
SCG offers internship opportunities for local high school, college, and graduate level students interested in peacebuilding, leadership development, nonprofit management and development, social welfare, and other fields of interest. Whereas the Interns for Peace program is limited to Building Bridges for Peace alumni, our student internship program is open to any applicant.
SCG prioritizes matching its interns with projects and tasks that fit their personal, academic, and professional goals. Each intern receives an individualized role description and meets regularly with her/his supervisor. Past interns have: helped plan and staff International Encounter Trips, conducted research with SCG participants and alumni, coordinated program retreats and service projects, developed program curriculum, led workshops, wrote grants, and many other tasks and projects. Interns have come from local high schools including East High School and George Washington High School, as well as from various programs at the University of Denver, including social work, conflict resolution, international studies, and international disaster psychology. Weekly hourly commitment varies according to the students availability and program requirements.
Volunteer
SCG welcomes volunteers willing to contribute their time and skills! We tailor volunteer opportunities with the volunteer’s availability and the organization’s needs. Contact us if you are interested in volunteering with us.
Job Opportunities
SCG is not currently hiring for any full- or part-time positions. Applications to staff the Building Bridges for Peace summer intensive will be available after January 1st, 2010. Please contact us for more information or visit the Building Bridges for Peace web-page.
Host a Participant
Every summer, community members in Denver have the opportunity to host American, Israeli, and Palestinian participants of Building Bridges for Peace in their homes. Please contact us to learn more about how to apply to become a host family.
